Blood and Sex Over Ambition – Now in Post Production

Blood and Sex Over Ambition is a short, historical-fiction dramedy film set in the art world. It’s aimed at explaining what transpired between Van Gogh and Paul Gauguin in the winter of 1888, through a queer lens.

Authentic quotes from correspondence from the time have been integrated into a wacky script with high stakes.

The script was a 2024 quarterfinalist at Hollyshorts, a 2024 semi-finalist at Flickers’ Rhode Island, and received a 2025 Honorable Mention at Waco Indie. It is  a 2025 grant recipient of Inwood Art Works and a 2026 grant recipient of the Creative Waco Arts Match Program Grant.

Filming was completed in Waco, TX, in late January 2026, and we are raising funds for post-production.
