Chen was born in Holon (a suburb of Tel-Aviv), Israel in March of 1987. Since she was the first born, there are no pictures from her birth (but her parents swear she’s not adopted).
Her parents always supported every little whim she had, and made her feel that she could be whomever she chooses to be.
After she got over her stage fright (which led her to hide under the table on her birthdays every year), she joined the school choir at the age of 7, and has been singing cheerfully ever since.
She spent her high school years majoring in Film and TV studies and got to learn the history of art and cinema. Her specialties were script-writing, producing and editing. She graduated with honors.
Then, in an attempt to be a very serious girl, Chen served in the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) for two and a half years. Upon completing her service, she took classes in acting and musical theater around Tel Aviv.
She joined and helped establish The Israeli Musical Theater Company (the IMTC), where she assisted with writing, producing and translating shows, in addition to performing.
In the summer of 2011 she graduated the integrated program at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in NYC where she was a musical theater major. She is now out and about, a proud SAG – AFTRA member, wreaking havoc in NYC – auditioning, writing, shooting and producing.
And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
